FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
General / Client Experience FAQs
1. How do I book a session with you?
Booking is simple! Just head to my contact page or shoot me a message over on Instagram. We’ll chat about your vision, find the perfect date, and lock it in. Easy-peasy!
2. How far in advance should I book?
For weddings, I recommend 6–12 months ahead (dates go fast!), but booking last minute can work sometimes, too! For family, maternity, and engagements, a few months is perfect. But don’t stress — reach out anytime and we’ll see what magic we can make happen!
3. What’s it like working with you?
Think of me as your new hype-friend with a camera. I’ll guide you, laugh with you, and make sure you feel natural and comfortable — because the best photos happen when you’re just being you.
4. We’re awkward in front of the camera… help!
Totally normal (and honestly, most people say that!). I’ll direct you with fun prompts, not stiff poses, so you end up laughing, moving, and forgetting you’re even being photographed. Spoiler alert: you’ll look amazing.
5. How many photos will we get?
For weddings, I guarantee 500 to 1000 beautifully edited images. For other sessions (like engagements, maternity, or family), anywhere from 20 to 100 depending on the package. Enough to relive every moment — and then some.
6. Do you edit all of our photos?
Absolutely! Every image you receive is hand-edited by me with love and care. No weird unnatural green filters or any other trendy edits — just simple and timeless images with a touch of my signature warmth.
7. How long does it take to get our photos back?
Weddings: Within 48 hours I will send you a handful of images as a cute little preview to get excited about, then your full online gallery will be available for your viewing pleasure in just 3 weeks. All other sessions: 2–3 weeks. I want to deliver quickly without rushing the magic!
8. Do you travel for sessions or weddings?
YES! I’m based in Vancouver, WA, but I love traveling outside the Portland metro area. Whether it’s the Oregon coast, the mountains, or a destination wedding in Vegas (Little White Chapel vibes, anyone?) — I’m there.
Personal / Fun FAQs
9. Why do you love photography?
I first started in photography to document my children growing up, but I soon realized it wasn’t just my love for them that was drawing me in, it was love in general that I was attracted to. Now I shoot because it freezes your feelings, not just your faces. Your joy, your laughter, the way your partner looks at you when you’re not paying attention — those moments are priceless, and I can’t get enough of them.
10. What’s your favorite kind of session to shoot?
That’s an impossible questions for me to answer. I shoot weddings, engagements, and family sessions because I can really FEEL your love for each other. My photography is about so much more than documenting moments in time. It’s about capturing your feelings. Any time there are people that really love each other, that’s what I want to shoot.
11. Do you help with posing and outfits?
Oh yes, absolutely! If you want help I’ll send you a style guide for outfits, and during your session I’ll direct you with prompts that feel natural. No “what do I do with my hands?” stress here at all.
12. What if the weather doesn’t cooperate?
We live in the PNW, so rain is part of our life here! I’m a pro at finding beautiful sheltered spots, or we can reschedule if it’s really stormy. Bonus: umbrellas and misty skies can be super romantic. And big bonus points for anyone who wants to tough it out with me on a rainy day, because that’s when some of the best moments happen.
Technical / Gear FAQs
13. What kind of camera do you use?
I shoot with professional full-frame Sony mirrorless cameras and a variety of prime and zoom lenses. Translation: crisp, dreamy, high-quality photos you’ll be able to treasure forever.
14. Do you use backup gear?
Yes! I always bring a backup camera body, lenses, batteries, flashes, and memory cards. Redundancy is my love language when it comes to protecting your memories.
15. Do you shoot in natural light or use flash?
Both! I adore natural golden-hour light above all, but I also carry both on and off-camera flash for receptions during those low-light hours. No matter the setting, your photos will glow, I promise.
